As Springfield Community Church is being planted, Nick Wing will be acting as pastor of the body. However, as the church grows the leadership structure will shift to plurality of elders as is identified in "What We Believe" page.
"In 2017 God began to put planting a church in Springfield on my heart. Over time God has continued to confirm this calling and has put two main burdens on my heart that continue to lead us to plant Springfield Community Church.
1. Since 2017, I have worked as a substitute teacher in Springfield Public Schools. The more I worked in the schools the more I saw the need in our community for the Gospel. There is so much brokenness in our community and as a follower of Jesus Christ I know and have experienced that ONLY the Gospel can bring healing and restoration to so many. I have often prayed with many tears over the hurting in Springfield and I believe the best way to help them is to plant a Gospel-centric church that spends its time and resources sharing the Gospel message in both word and deed.
2. The second burden God has put on my heart is the need for discipleship (helping new followers of Jesus know and follow Him). I believe that God wants us to plant a church that is
focused on reaching people for Christ with the Gospel and then walking with them and teaching them in close friendship what it means to follow Jesus.
It is my hope and prayer that Springfield Community Church would become a light and witness for Jesus so that many would come to know God in the fullness of all his grace!"
