Missional Communities

Missional Communities are the heart of Springfield Community Church as these communities make up the larger body of our church. Their purpose is to live life together, loving one another and working together to share the Gospel with friends, family and the community.

These community groups gather once a week for prayer and fellowship around God’s Word.  They are designed to grow up to around 30 people, at that point our hope is to multiply these groups into two smaller groups where they can grow and multiply again. These communities are made up of all backgrounds and ages. While the adults meet for fellowship and learning, a separate teaching time is provided for smaller children. However, older children are invited and encouraged to join with the adults in the gathering as we believe that the church is multigenerational and that by having multiple ages together we grow together.  

As important as we believe these gatherings to be, we do not believe that these gatherings alone make up a Missional Community. A Missional Community also walks with one another throughout life: eating together, playing together, celebrating with one another, weeping together, encouraging one another, calling each other, basically doing all of life together! 

And finally, Missional Communities are most importantly missional! All members work together to follow Jesus in sharing the Gospel message with friends, family, the community and all the world.  This begins with prayer and is lived out by being intentional within relationships.
